Florian Lechner (1981*) lebt und arbeitet in München. Sein Werk reicht von flächigen Arbeiten und autonomen Plastiken bis hin zu monumentalen Rauminterventionen. Sein Sujet ist der Raum ebenso wie die Eigenschaften von Plastik und Skulptur, welche er untersucht. Lechner erzeugt Figuren oder Bildräume virtuell am Computer oder schichtet Material auf Scannern, um es zu erfassen. Dieses Ausgangsmaterial wird anschließend gedruckt, geschnitten, collagiert und verdichtet. Florian Lechners Werke existieren nur im Moment ihrer Wahrnehmung durch den Rezipienten. Sie sind losgelöst von ihrem spezifisch physischem Zustand und unterlaufen als Inszenierungen barocker Exzessivität und Komplexität die Grenzen von Bild und Skulptur und verhandeln so Raum als virtuelle Plastiken neu.
Florian Lechner (1981 *) lives and works in Munich. His oeuvre ranges from two-dimensional works and autonomous sculptures to monumental spatial interventions. His subject is space as well as the properties of plastic and sculpture, which he investigates. Lechner creates figures or pictorial spaces virtually on the computer or layers material on scanners in order to capture it. This raw material is then printed, cut, collaged and compressed. Florian Lechner’s works only exist in the moment they are perceived by the recipient. They are detached from their specific physical condition and, as stagings of baroque excess and complexity, subvert the boundaries of image and sculpture and thus renegotiate space as virtual sculptures.
