JULIUS DÖRNER

About

Julius Dörner (*1987) lives in Berlin and works in a former military area in Zossen. The focus of his thinking and his standards of value revolve around the practical value and the ecological footprint of our goods production, and thus also of art. Junkyards and bulky waste are his sources of material, to this day. Even the early works show his instinct for the formal qualities inherent in the »objet trouve« and his inspiration to create art with a mischievous smile through upcycling. The use of east and west design in his works is an exciting and funny contribution to the german history. Julius Dörner has recently turned his attention to the production of functional, meaning useful objects. He deals with the mobile Tiny House, which is constructed on the chassis of former construction trailers.
